Gourmet food, wine, chocolate, and new-baby baskets last far longer than cut flowers and suit recipients who would enjoy a treat, or occasions where flowers are not allowed, such as some hospital units. They are popular for sympathy, corporate thank-yous, and congratulations. Note that alcohol baskets have shipping limits and need an adult signature at delivery.
